AC Shadows Introduces Surprising AoT Event for Thanksgiving
In a surprising partnership that challenges traditional expectations, Ubisoft has revealed an in-game crossover between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the acclaimed anime series Attack on Titan. The unusual Thanksgiving event operates from November 25 through December 22, offering free additional story content for Shadows players.
Peculiar Adventure Revealed
According to the authorized announcement, "A mysterious meeting leads heroes Naoe and Yasuke into a new quest, where whispers of forbidden ceremonies and fearsome changes resonate through the shadows." The plot features a "oddly garbed woman named Ada" who assigns the characters with journeying into the Crystalline Cavern—a important location from Attack on Titan—to save her companion from a secret sect.
The mission focuses on "strange trials and a fearsome enemy" and is available to all players who have unlocked the Yasuke character.
Iconic Places and Metamorphoses
The trailer features the Underground Chapel from Attack on Titan recreated as the Crystal Cave. This significant location was earlier where the Reiss royal family passed down the Founding Titan ability through ages. The preview finishes with a powerful scene showing a character, likely the captive, transforming into a Titan that towers over Naoe and Yasuke.
Unique Prizes and Extra Features
Players who finish the quest will receive an unique katana alongside multiple artifacts hidden throughout the area in hidden chests. The update also contains purchasable Attack on Titan item packs, offering:
- Titan-themed outfit for Yasuke
- Mikasa attire for Naoe
- Unique weapons
- Survey Corps mount
Newest Free Story Addition
This update also adds the game's third no-cost story addition, titled "The Mystery." This lighthearted adventure teams Naoe and Yasuke as they exchange distinctive techniques: Naoe debuts a performative interpretation of Yasuke's war kick, while Yasuke masters subduing stealth takedowns. Loyal to its name, "The Mystery" also features a original environmental puzzle that may finally explain some unresolved questions from the main storyline.

This marks not the primary time the Assassin's Creed franchise has collaborated with well-known anime franchises. The series previously included a 2020 cross-promotional story connecting Assassin's Creed: Valhalla with Makoto Yukimura's Vinland Saga. Moreover, Valhalla unofficially included a quest that obviously nodded to the well-known series One-Punch Man.
